Why is Hard Diffulty in Fallout 4 So Easy
For the past two years I've been playing fallout 4 on the normal difficulty, and now I want to bump that up to the next one, which I understand is hard. What challenges will I face other than reduced damage dealt and a harder beginning? Any helpful advice that you can think of? I've been finding out lately I get such horrible legendaries and I pretty much steamroll every enemy after I reach level 30ish, and so I'm looking forward to a more challenging game and more legendary enemies. Once again, this is on the Xbox one with no mods other than the ones from creation club
Very hard (the difficulty that I universally play on) isn't that difficult once you understand the game mechanics.
Fallout 4 really suffers in that regard. There are plenty of games where learning the mechanics reduces the difficulty, but they introduce satisfaction in other ways. Fallout 4 doesn't do that. Once you have a solid grasp of the mechanics and it ceases to be challenging, it loses satisfaction.
Changing the difficulty doesn't do much. Higher difficulties mean enemies do more damage to you, but you do less to them. And legendary enemies are much more common at higher difficulties. I think That's basically it, everything just takes longer, you need more bullets to kill than on lower difficulties. I'm trying to get all achievements and I have just 4 left and one of them is to do 12 quests for raider gangs but god I don't want to, but I have to. So I'm just playing on very easy lol, haven't seen a single legendary eneny, but I am kinda rushing it.
^ I know how that feels, I too tried to get all the achievements at once and though it took forever I finally got them all.
I'm not gonna even try survival mode because of the many features it has such as disabled fast travel, no auto saves, you have to eat and drink, etc, until I feel comfortable with the other difficulties first
How did you get the Eyes on The Price achievement? To redeem 100000 tickets? That must have took forever.
^ It did, took me 6 hours real life of babysitting two conveyor lifts that dropped kickballs into the same hoop shot. I had almost 200 kickballs at one point, and the hard part was keeping the timer going and keeping the right side conveyor full of kickballs. I got about 5,000-7200 score each time with this method so about 250-600 tickets each time
Oh I keep forgetting you can build some of the arcades. I tried going to the Nuka Cade but it's impossible to get anything done. It's super laggy there, too much lighting. I even have the Xbox One X too, but badly optimized game y'know. Geting the X was worth it, crashing has reduced so much it's even rare now. Such a joy! Used to crash all the time, and loading is faster obviously.
Anyway, there was a guide that told me to start the hoop shot and hold a basketball over the ring then tap the crouch button. But it was super inconsistent, got barely 500-600 tickets. And it was laggy cause TOO MUCH LIGHTING. I'm gonna try if I can figure out what you did.
Just play Very Hard. That's what I, and apparently most people here do. Legendary enemies are more common, and therefore, so is legendary gear.
I've always played on very hard, trust me, it's not very hard. Try it. It's quite disappointing. That's why I always play on surivival, but then there's no fast travel... A lot of time goes to waste.
I think I will try hard or very hard too. Can't do survival because you can't just save anywhere and I need to be able to quit at a moments notice.
